Nail Art: Bridal Inspired Foil Stamping

Have you all heard of the Sally Hansen Color Foil Collection? It has been out for a while, but for one reason or another, I haven't gotten my hands on them until now. I have a nail art look today using Leaden Lilac as a base color. This polish is different from the usual polish where you use a base and top coat. This one specifically states to not use a base or top coat. The polish dries to a very metallic foil looking finish which has a really cool effect. The color is an interesting mix of blue and purple, I would call it more blue than purple. It reminded me of the blue/purple Pure Ice Laven-Dare because I couldn't really tell if it is was more blue leaning or purple leaning. I decided to pair the two for this look. Turns out Laven-Dare stamps really well, so I used my MoYou Tourist Collection Plate 07 for this design.

I really liked the effect of this polish! It was really interesting and different from any other polish I have. It was weird not adding a base or top coat, but I supposed you could add a top coat if you really wanted to. I noticed the next day I had a lot of tip wear after getting out of the shower, but I touched it up and it took the touch up really well. Sometimes I try to touch up and it is obvious that I just added more polish. Not the case with this polish, it must be something to do with the metallic in it. Besides the short wear, I really liked this look. I was somewhat inspired by bridal designs for this one, maybe it could be a "something blue" for a bold bride. I used two coats of this, like the bottle recommended, and I found it to be the perfect amount. Application was a breeze, it went on very smooth. Have you tried any from the Color Foil Collection? What do you think of this design? Hope you like it, thanks for reading!

  3. That is the problem with these types of polish, there is no forgiveness with imperfections. I don't have a ton of ridges, but you can sure see them. Still a fun polish. I just wish you could use a base coat with these.
