Born Pretty Store Review of Stamping Plate Qgirl-032

Press Sample

Today I have a Born Pretty Store review to share with you! I received the Qgirl-032 stamping plate for review. It has a little bit of a tribal motif along with a dragon and geometric pattern. I chose to try out the geometric pattern here. I used a base color of Morgan Taylor Scene Queen and Sinful Colors Black on Black for stamping.

Cirque XX

I have a beautiful polish to share with you today! I have never tried Cirque before, but have been wanting to for a really long time! When I saw that Ipsy had Cirque on the list of samples that were to be an option in the monthly subscription, I really hoped to get it! Unfortunately, I didn't get it, but I found someone willing to trade a product for it! More information about Ipsy is at the end of the post. The Cirque came in a mini bottle, and not a full size, but it didn't disappoint. I layered one coat over Sinful Colors Black on Black and added a top coat.

Work Wear Wednesday: Halloween Edition

Hello! I hope you are having a fantastic week! It is once again Work Wear Wednesday! I feel like these weeks are going by so fast. This week I decided to do a Halloween version of Work Wear Wednesday. I wanted to incorporate Halloween colors without going overboard, so I created a two tone look that I feel is very work appropriate but with a little edge to it. I used A England Lady of the Lake and Sinful Colors Black on Black for this look.

Nail Art: #31DC2014 Day 30 Jellyfish

I love Oh My Gosh Polish's designs and her awesome accent. She does tons of YouTube videos showing us how to do her nail art, so I definitely recommend taking a look at her videos and subscribing. She has inspired me in the past and today I decided to try another of her designs. She recently did a video featuring a jellyfish design, so I did a re-creation here. I embedded the video at the bottom of the post, but be sure to check out her channel, linked above! I must apologize, my photos are quite up to standard because I was loosing the light and they just aren't quite right. I also turned them differently so you can see the jellyfish correctly.

Nail Art: #31DC2014 Day 23 Inspired by a Movie

The movie I chose for the nail art challenge, inspired by a movie, was Alice in Wonderland (2010). I actually chose a dress that Alice wore in the court of the queen of hearts. I would love to put a photo of it in this post, but I cannot find an original source for the photos I am finding so I won't, but if you google Alice in Wonderland Red Court Dress, it will come up. It was a tulle poofy dress with a red to black underskirt and a sheer white overlay with stripes and hearts on it. Ever since I first saw this dress in the movie, I have loved it. It is so out there, but girly and sort of steampunk it inspired me. I loved it enough to remember it years later and recreate it on my nails!

Neon Week Nail Art: Fashion Inspired Neon Statement Piece

This may be the most simple, yet complicated design I have for Neon Week. If you missed past Neon Week Posts you can read them here: Neon Mist (Day 1), Neon Monochrome Arrows (Day 2)Neon Rainbow Flowers (Day 3)Neon Galaxy (Day 4). Today's look is another one for Oh Mon Dieu Part Deux, Day 30 Fashion Inspired. I saw a very striking necklace on Etsy from the shop JustynaG and very soon couldn't get it off my mind! I posted a variant of it in one of my treasuries and have been wanting to recreate the look. This design is loosely based off of it, as you will be able to see in the photo from from the listing. I only used Orly Glowstick (a staple for neon week) and Sinful Colors Black on Black.

Nail Art: Chevrons with Street Art and Nail Studs

I have a fun and different (for me) combination to share today! I'm finding that I don't actually own that many glitter polishes, but when I saw the unique Maybelline Color Show Street Art collection, this blue and black glitter combo caught my eye. It is called Nighttime Noise. I wanted to showcase it in this mani. I started with a white base, I used Pure Ice Superstar here and on my pointer and pinky fingers added triangle shaped studs from the Born Pretty Store (use my code: HANDX31 for 10% off). I then used Nail Vinyls and painted Sinful Colors Black on Black on my thumb, middle, and ring fingers.
