Nail Art: #31DC2014 Day 21 Inspired by a Color

Inspired by a color is a fairly easy challenge for me. I've had something on my mind lately though. My friend posted on my wall asking what nail polish could match the teal for Ovarian Cancer Awareness, which happens to be this month. It got me thinking and I wanted to create a design for Ovarian Cancer Awareness. I picked a polish that isn't quite teal because it holds a special meaning for me. For Audrey is almost teal, more of a blue really, but it is one of my favorite colors. My Aunt Audrey passed away from Ovarian Cancer. Needless to say, I miss her a lot. Thus brings up the topic of Ovarian Cancer, it is something all women need to be aware of, so check out the website and learn about the symptoms and risk factors.

Nail Art: Bridal Inspired Foil Stamping

Have you all heard of the Sally Hansen Color Foil Collection? It has been out for a while, but for one reason or another, I haven't gotten my hands on them until now. I have a nail art look today using Leaden Lilac as a base color. This polish is different from the usual polish where you use a base and top coat. This one specifically states to not use a base or top coat. The polish dries to a very metallic foil looking finish which has a really cool effect. The color is an interesting mix of blue and purple, I would call it more blue than purple. It reminded me of the blue/purple Pure Ice Laven-Dare because I couldn't really tell if it is was more blue leaning or purple leaning. I decided to pair the two for this look. Turns out Laven-Dare stamps really well, so I used my MoYou Tourist Collection Plate 07 for this design.

Nail Art: Floral Stamp Over Oil Slick Nails

Hello! I hope you all had a great weekend! I feel well rested and enjoyed the summer sun. Today I have nail stamping design for you! I have really been into stamping lately and I recently received a new stamping plate, so I had to play. I have a color from Essence, that I have not been able to try out called Power Girl (Oil Slick Effect). It is part of the Superheroes Collection that was released quite a while ago. If you can find any, you should pick them up! I was actually pretty impressed with the ones I bought. I stamped from image plate 217. I think the images are really crisp and beautiful. Some of the patterns do seem really detailed for such a small area, but come out beautifully on the nail. I stamped the black with Wet n Wild Black Creme.

Nail Art: Blue and White Ceramics Inspired

Today I have a fun, yet delicate design for you! I have been really inspired lately by many nail artist re-creating the look of blue and white ceramics. I really wanted to re-create those looks with stamping because I haven't had a lot of time to do freehand nail art lately. I used Sinful Colors Snow Me white as a base and stamped Rimmel London Blue Eyed Girl using MoYou Tourist Plate 07.

Nail Art: Spring Gradient

This is one of those rare instances where I really like what I created. I guess we are our own worst critics, but I always find something about my nails that I usually wish I could have done better. These ones, though, turned out really well! I was proud of how my gradient turned out and the stamping was just dainty enough to not overwhelm the gradient. The blue I used is Sephora by OPI Havana Dreams and the green is an unnamed Sally Hansen. Unnamed. How dare they not put a sticker with a name on it! Seriously, it kind of makes me twitchy when my polish doesn't have a name. I could have sworn I saw the same color elsewhere and it had pear in the name, so if any of you know the name, please let me know!! I also used my beloved MoYou plate from the Tourist Collection.

Nail Art: French Decor

Hey Friends! I have a fun little design to share with you! I bought myself a MoYou stamping plate for my birthday and I was so excited to use it. I got one from the tourist collection and it has French themed images including the Mona Lisa. Here is where I bought my plate, but it is currently unavailable on Amazon. I have my eyes on many of these beautiful plates! The Artist Collection is so gorgeous! Anyway, I wanted to create a squishy white nail with some gold accent. I think it reminds me of French decor!
