Nails, Lips, and Lashes by One Direction

Sponsored Post

Today, I have something a little different to share with you. Not only do I have nail polish, but I also have lip gloss and mascara! I received Makeup by One Direction kits! I'm not normally a makeup blogger, but I wanted to share these with you since they are all part of the same collection and it might be a fun change for the blog. Are you a One Direction fan? I think they call themselves Directioners. I don't listen to their music, but maybe I should. The make up is from the brand Markwins, which also brings us other brands like Wet n Wild and Physicians Formula. Here is what it all looks like.

First up, I have the lip gloss set. These are a shimmery trio that are very bright and eye catching. Here is the description from the company:

LIQUILIGHTS GLOW GLOSS

Liquilights Glow Gloss sparkles brilliantly during the day and illuminates under UV black light after dark. Enriched with natural oils and vitamin E to keep your lips soft and hydrated all day and all night.
Gloss can be worn alone for a pop of sparkle and color, or paired with One Direction crème lipstick for a bolder look.

Through the Dark- Electric glitter poppy lip gloss that glows to neon red-orange under UV light
Kiss You- Orange glitter rush lip gloss that glows to neon yellow under UV light
Taken - Powerhouse glitter pink lip gloss that glows to neon orange under UV light

I unfortunately don't have a black light, so I can't show you the UV effect, but these are pretty even without it. I think these would be great to wear for a concert for sure!

Next up are the mascaras! These are really fun and bright! I haven't used colored mascara like this in a while and it was really fun to play with. I received a blue, pink and yellow. From the company:

ELECTRO GLAM MASCARA

Give your look a jolt of electric colour, with this limited-edition trio of ultra-bold coloured mascaras for hair and lashes, in three heavily pigmented, buildable colours.
FOR LASHES- Make a subtle statement by adding a pop of colour to the tips of your lashes, or add coats to your entire lashes for a shockingly chic look. The more the better!
AS A HAIR MASCARA- Apply to small sections of hair and swipe through for instant ELECTRIC highlights.

Why don’t we go there- Shock of blue
Does he know?- Pinkest hot pink
Story of my life- Amped canary yellow

I found it to actually apply really well. There wasn't any clumping and it went on really smooth. You do need several layers for full coverage, but if you are going for a bold color on your lashes like this, I think you would want several layers anyway. It has such a fun effect. I love how you can use it for your hair as well.

Lastly, and what I was most excited to receive is the nail polish and glitter! I received three colors and three glitters. The glitters sort of correspond with the polishes. From left to right below are: Happily, Moments, and Diana. The glitter from left to right are: Kicks, Not Afraid, and Star. From the company:

ROCK ME NAIL KIT

ROCK ME NAIL KIT, featuring NEON UV-REACTIVE Nail Varnish and UV-REACTIVE GLITTER nail toppings that add even more sizzle to your mani, for nails that light up day and night.
Sprinkle the glitter over wet polish for a subtle accent, or go for the glitz and dip your entire wet mani in mega-watt sparkle!

Nail Varnish:
Happily– UV iced blue glitter
Moments- UV neon pink
Diana- UV 3D holographic

Glitter Toppings:
Kicks- UV snow cone blue
Not afraid- UV electrified pink glitter
Star-- UV holo glitter

Happily is a nice darker toned blue. I really love this blue color. The formula is more of a crelly with a little bit of streakiness in the first layer. I used three coats here for full opacity and to even everything out.

Diana is a gorgeous holographic glitter topper with both microglitter and bar glitters in it. I meant to be holding the bottle of Diana when I took this photo, but I must have banked that. I created a simple nail art design with Diana and Happily, and they look great together. I only used one coat of Diana here, it has great coverage.

Next is Moments. This one is really bright! It is a little too hot pink for me, but those who usually enjoy pinks will probably like this a lot. It is creamier than Happily, but has that same crelly formula. I again used three coats for full opacity here as it is a little more sheer than a regular creme.

Lastly I used the loose glitter, Star, to create a simple glitter gradient. I really love this glitter, it is beautiful! I do have a thing for holos though. Loose glitter is definitely difficult to work with because it gets everywhere, but the result is so worth it! I used a dry brush to wipe away the excess glitter.

So, what do you think? Which set is your favorite? Will you be purchasing these? I think this is a definite must have for a Directioner, and a nice set for those who might not follow the band either. I thought the bright colors were really fun, especially if you have an event to attend that has black lights! These sets really make it easy to give these as gifts as well. They are small enough to fit in stockings or you can wrap them up! These kits are currently available at Macy's, Dillards, Boscov's, Stage Stores, Beauty Brands, and Lord & Taylor for $16.50 each set.
