Nail Art: Chevron Stripes

Hello friends! Have I told you how much I love Stardust Polish lately? I feel like I am posting about Stardust a lot, but I have another goodie to share with you. Today I have Flowers Can't Talk, from her Alice in Wonderland Collection. I have previously shared Mr. Rabbit and Simply Mad from that collection, both of which I loved! Flowers Can't Talk is similar to Mr. Rabbit, but had a pale pink base rather than white and different glitters. I realized it has been a while since I have done chevrons, so I added those as well using China Glaze Harmony.

Swatch and Review of OPI: Incognito in Sausalito

Today, I have yet another OPI San Francisco Collection polish to share with you! I recently went to Nordstrom Rack and struck gold, their OPIs were on sale for $5.18 with an additional 25% off! I was really excited about that! Incognito in Sausalito is a color I had been eyeing but I wasn't sure if I wanted to buy it or not. It is a dark, inky blue that looks almost black. I feel like I have so many of those almost black colors I wasn't sure I wanted another, but I secumbed and bought it anyway. Check it out:I

Swatch and Review of Nails Inc.: Kensington High Street

This is my FIRST Nails Inc. polish! I have heard great things about the brand, but it is on the pricier side and we all know I don't need to spend more money on nail polish. However, I was at Sephora this weekend and they had this beauty on sale for $5! This is called Kensington High Street. I had a hard time finding other swatches online that weren't from the Gel Effect line, so I am not sure if this is limited or not, but if you like it, check out your local Sephora ASAP! Kensington High Street is a basic burgundy wine color, but one of those colors everyone loves.

Swatch and Review of Stardust Polish: Simply Mad

Happy Valentine's Day! Today I have a really fun polish to share! It is my first time using a thermal-color changing polish. This one is by Stardust Polish and it is called Simply Mad from her Alice in Wonderland Collection. I don't see this polish listed on her site right now, that may mean it is discontinued. I love Stardust Polish so much! Drema has such great and unique creations, I want them all! Simply Mad goes from a light pink to a hot pink color with many different glitters incorporated. The colors of the glitter remind me of the Cheshire Cat in the cartoon version of Alice in Wonderland.

Nail Art: Gradient Hearts

Valentine's Day is tomorrow! Whether you love it or hate it, you can celebrate it with nail art! I picked a particularly girly look. I created a gradient and added a reverse gradient of hearts over top. I used Color Club Endless, Sally Hansen White On, Sally Hansen Punch Drunk, and OPI Miami Beet. I only used three colors for each gradient, but swapped out White on which I used in the base for Endless which I used for the hearts.

Nail Art: Lace

My next design is completely inspired by someone on instagram. Her username is @nails_by_cindy. Love her, go check her out if you use instagram! She posted something yesterday which I immediately fell in love with and had to try out. It reminds me of lace, but less delicate. I used OPI Birthday Babe as a base color which is a really light almost white silver and Dutch Ya Just Love OPI? and Casino Royale as accent colors. I used dotting tools for the scalloped edges and the dots.

Nail Art: Colorblocked Nails

We recently had a big snow storm and I discovered that snow makes for great lighting! I took all of my pictures outside because I was so excited. We don't get a lot of snow here in Oregon. I started out with a swatch of China Glaze Argo, and it evolved into a little nail art. Argo is gorgeous! Before I owned this, I didn't think much of it, but it has such a glowy quality, I can't help but love it. It applied beautifully and was opaque in two coats. Argo comes from the Hunger Games collection from 2012, which is flat out my favorite collection from China Glaze-by far.

Swatch and Review of Esmaltes da Kelly Paula and Giovana

Today I have two indie polishes to share with you all! I have never tried nor heard of this brand before Llarowe had a sale, so I figured it was my chance! I have Paula, a white base with black, red and yellow glitters and Giovana, a blue base with navy blue glitters. Paula is up first:

Nail Art: Olympic Nails

As I type this I am watching the Opening Ceremonies of the 2014 Winter Olympics! I created a design inspired by a tutorial from Chalkboard Nails. Her tutorial is for distressed nails and my thought was to incorporate all of the colors of the Olympic rings. It turned out a little muttled, and I think I used too many colors. I think it looks really interesting and different though.

Swatch and Review of A England: Ascalon

Today, I have another addition to my collection of A England!! Ascalon is a beautiful duochrome polish. At a cursory glance, it is a grey hued color with holographic glitter, but I see gorgeous hints of purple and green. From A England's website they describe it as follows: 'Forged by magic and guided by our hero's sainted hand, the steely grey of his spire is alive with a swirling heart of lavender fire.'. Isn't that an awesome description? I can definitely see it in this polish in real life, but it is difficult to capture in a photo.

Nail Art: Chinese New Year Nails

Happy Chinese New Year!! Chines New Year was January 31st and yesterday I celebrated with family. This year is the year of the wooden horse. I decided to do some red nails with gold glitter to celebrate the occasion! I used butter LONDON Come to Bed Red and three different glitters: Julep Paris, Sinful Colors All About You and the best Chinese New Year glitter: China Glaze Electrify! I created a glitter gradient from the bast of the nail and went a little overboard!
