Today's challenge is metallic nails for the daily nail art challenge! I have been wanting to use OPI's Push and Shove for a while, and I don't know why I hadn't pulled it out of my stash yet. It is perfect for a metallic challenge. It is the closest to a mirror polish I own! For today's look, I was inspired by the lovely The Dalai Lama's Nails. She did a black and white ruffian, and I thought that would look nice with a metallic. The other color I used was OPI Every Month is Oktoberfest. This was one I have been wanting for ages and this summer received it as a gift! I wanted to create something simple here, so I pulled out the striping tape again, but only put down one or two stripes on each nail. Push and Shove is super finicky so I had to be sure to put the special base coat down before layering it over the other polish.
What do you think? I had a bit of a rough time trying to get this mani to work because of the consistency of Push and Shove, but the issues were worth the final effect. I love how shiny it is! I didn't use a top coat at all for these, which felt a little weird, but it worked out fine. If you have questions about the challenge see the FAQs linked below. If you missed any of my previous posts, I have also linked those below! Thanks for reading!

I love this! It's a simple and understated look, but I'm sure it was harder than it looks (especially with striping tape and P&S!)!
ReplyDeleteThis looks fabulous! I love what you did with the striping tape.
ReplyDeletethis is SO cute! I really love the idea of a ruffian with a stripe up the middle!!!
ReplyDeleteI love love love this! Great manicure.
ReplyDeleteOooh I love the contrast of the two colors! I think it turned out really pretty!
ReplyDeleteThose shades work so well together - great job!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful! I love the silver with the deep vampy of Oktoberfest (which is one of my favorite polishes!) I never did pick up Push and Shove because I mainly use metallics for stamping (and I have a great silver) but it sounds like a complete PiTA to work with!
ReplyDeleteI'm not very artistic, so I'm loving these mani's you ladies are coming up with! I love the color combo on this.
ReplyDeleteOoh, this is a great look, kind of far-out!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THIS!!!! It's very art deco! I've fallen off the wagon LOL and need to get caught up! I love a good ruffian and I love Push & Shove....to an extent. I just don't think my body chemistry likes it.
ReplyDeleteI really like this! Super nice for fall :) I need to dig EMIO back out soon!
ReplyDeleteLove the look! I know P&S is a pain, but it sure is worth the trouble in the end! Look how awesome your nails ended up!
ReplyDeleteThanks! P&S gave me the most trouble, but not a difficult look at all!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteThis was one of those manis that I re-did like three times before I got here. I wanted to stamp, but that didn't work. So, I thought simplicity was best.
ReplyDeletePush and Shove does not stamp! I tried several times and kept failing. I love Oktoberfest. We have a local Oktoberfest this month, so I think I'm going to have to wear this color to attend!
ReplyDeleteSo worth the trouble! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteYes! It is such a beautiful color!
ReplyDeleteI don't think anyone's body chemistry likes it! It seemed to hold pretty well on my nails for the day I wore it though. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jessica!
