KBShimmer Haute Mess

Press Sample

Haute Mess from KBShimmer is a glitter bomb I have to share with you tonight! This was the other polish I received from the Winter/Holiday 2016 Collection that released November 1st, but is still available online. This is a heavy glitter packed with silver, copper, rose gold, and holographic glitters which makes you take a second look at this disco ball on your nails.

Julie G Gradient

I decided I needed a distinctly summery look because it has actually been really hot here in the Pacific Northwest. It was actually 90 degrees today! I went with a design that looks like a tequila sunrise and added some white glitter. I used Julie G Canary Islands, Old San Juan, and Miami Beach. The glitter I used is Sephora Formula X Wham!.

Euro Gradient

Happy New Year! Welcome to 2016! It seems like the years go by so quickly now, but I guess time flies when you're having fun. My first nail art design of the year is created using all OPI Euro Centrale Collection polishes. It was one of my favorite collections from them and I think they all look great together. I decided to go with a gradient and topped it with glitter. Gradients are so fun and easy and have such a high impact.

OPI Glitters from the Gwen Stefani Holiday 2014 Collection

This post has been a  LONG time coming! I have been wanting to share the glitter since I posted First Class Desires and Christmas Gone Plaid. I had my eyes on Comet in the Sky, but couldn't find these glitters anywhere. I literally went to a ton of stores several times. I finally caved and bought Comet in the Sky online and the next day was told that they were all at TJ Maxx on sale! I knew I was going to love Comet in the Sky, so I figured it couldn't hurt to have two bottles. So, today along with Comet in the Sky, I have Snow Globetrotter and So Elegant. All of these are glitter toppers in a clear base.

Delush Scream Supreme Collection Inspired by American Horror Story (My Picks)

Press Sample

Delush Polish released an American Horror Story inspired collection called Scream Supreme! I went crazy over this collection, and knew I had to have it! I love the show and when polish and my favorite books to TV shows come together it is perfection. I think many of you know of my love of AHS, it is such a dark and twisty show! I picked up Bitchcraft, Misty Day, A Night in the Asylum, and Murder House. All of these are jelly polishes packed with glitter.

NYC Crystal Couture NY Princess

NYC came out with a great collection called the Crystal Couture Collection. Today I have NY Princess from that collection! It is a gorgeous purple jelly packed with glitter! I feel like mainstream brands haven't done many jelly polishes, so I was excited to see one and that it was well done. I used three coats for the photos below.

Cirque XX

I have a beautiful polish to share with you today! I have never tried Cirque before, but have been wanting to for a really long time! When I saw that Ipsy had Cirque on the list of samples that were to be an option in the monthly subscription, I really hoped to get it! Unfortunately, I didn't get it, but I found someone willing to trade a product for it! More information about Ipsy is at the end of the post. The Cirque came in a mini bottle, and not a full size, but it didn't disappoint. I layered one coat over Sinful Colors Black on Black and added a top coat.

Nail Art: #31DC2014 Day 17 Glitter

I have another late post to share today. Day 17 for the daily nail art challenge was glitter. I thought this one over so many times and I didn't want to just do a simple glitter polish. I've had Sally Hansen Mermaid's Tale for a long time and have only used it once, so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to pull it out. I decided to do a matte finish on this gorgeous jelly and add a stamp (Born Pretty Store D14).

Swatch and Review of Morgan Taylor: Sapphires, Rubies, and Emeralds Oh My

Today I have to share my first and only Morgan Taylor polish! I bought this a while back and just haven't thought to use it. I'm not sure where these are normally sold, but I found this one at a salon. Sapphires, Rubies, and Emeralds Oh My is a glitter bomb. It is loaded, and I mean loaded with glitter. The best part is that it has a good base color so you don't need many layers. I think the base is a blue/purple, maybe more blue than purple. I only needed two coats for the photos below.

Swatch and Review of Different Dimension 50 Shades and That Is So Fetch!

Today I have a new to me indie brand to share with you! Different Dimension is a brand I have been following for quite a while, but never purchased, until now! I have two shades to share with you today: That Is So Fetch! and 50 Shades. I'm not really sure what to classify them as, but maybe a glitter topper with a jelly base? The base is pigmented but not entirely a full coverage type of polish. That Is So Fetch! was inspired by Mean Girls character: Gretchen Wieners. So funny! 50 Shades was inspired by 50 Shades of Grey.

Swatch and Review of KB Shimmer: I Got a Crush on Blue (LEMMING CRUSHED!)

I have been lusting after this polish for a long time now, and finally it is mine!! KB Shimmer I Got a Crush on Blue, took my breath away when I saw swatches a while ago. This is so gorgeous,  I am just going to let the photos do the talking. More comments after the photos.

Swatch and Review of Daily Hues: Isys

I have a beautiful polish to share with you all today! Daily Hues Nail Lacquer is a (sort of) local brand for me. She is one state over, but it still feels local. I previously shared Blaze from Daily Hues Nail Lacquer and love the brand! Today I have Isys, a purple jelly with different size and shape glitters. The highlights for me are the circle glitters and the shreds of glitter. I don't have any other polishes with glitter shreds, so that makes this polish really unique to me. I applied two coats for the below photos.

Swatch and Review of KB Shimmer: Laugh Myself Lily

I have a great swatch and review for you today of KB Shimmer Laugh Myself Lily. Oh my goodness guys. I can't tell you how excited I was to receive my first KB Shimmer polishes in a gift exchange. Seriously, I have been loving every KB Shimmer polish I've seen in other swatches all over social media. I received three! I literally fell in love with them as soon as I saw them. I may have shrieked a little when opening the package. Laugh Myself Lily was released in the spring of this year. For those of you who don't know, KB Shimmer is a larger indie brand that specializes in glitter packed polishes with great coverage and unique shades.

Nail Art: Chevrons with Street Art and Nail Studs

I have a fun and different (for me) combination to share today! I'm finding that I don't actually own that many glitter polishes, but when I saw the unique Maybelline Color Show Street Art collection, this blue and black glitter combo caught my eye. It is called Nighttime Noise. I wanted to showcase it in this mani. I started with a white base, I used Pure Ice Superstar here and on my pointer and pinky fingers added triangle shaped studs from the Born Pretty Store (use my code: HANDX31 for 10% off). I then used Nail Vinyls and painted Sinful Colors Black on Black on my thumb, middle, and ring fingers.

Born Pretty Store 2 of 3: Glitter Chevrons

Press Sample

Today I have part two of this Born Pretty Store three part series. I have loose glitter to share today! I have been seeing a lot of stunning glitter placement manis lately and am so impressed by how stunning they look. I tried my hand at these a while ago here, but I was using really tiny gliltters and it took ages. The Born Pretty Store sent me some larger loose glitter and I attempted to make a chevron design with the different colors. I used a toothpick dipped in top coat to place the glitter onto a wet layer of top coat. The base color I used was Orly Naked Canvas.

Swatch and Review of Zoya Magical Pixie Dust Summer 2014 Collection

Press Sample

Summer 2014 is shaping up to be beautiful! Zoya sent me three new polishes from the Magical Pixie Summer 2014 Collection and I have them to share with you today!  Zoya provided these for my honest review. The Magical Pixie polishes are very textured polishes, but even if you don't like textured polish you should definitely check them out. I have photos of all with and without top coat, and I think you'll be surprised!

I have a NEW indie brand to share with you today! Aurora Lacquers just started this year and have already launched some amazing colors. They send me these polishes in exchange for my honest review. They sent me four colors to review: Cookie Gardens, Mint Meadows, Imaginary Butterfly, and Hydrangea Surprise.

Nail Art: Glitter Placement

Today I have sort of a two part post. One is to review China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy and the other is to share my first ever glitter placement mani! I had a hankering for neon polish a week ago and picked up several neons that I have been wanting for a while. Flip Flop Fantasy is a great one that everyone seems to have. I would describe it as a peachy neon, but I have seen other versions as more of a coral color. I think there may be two versions out there. For the glitter placement I used some loose glitter I picked up at Fred Meyer from Essence.

Nail Art: Stripes and Dots

I have a lovely color that has been on my list for quite a while. Color Club The Uptown, is a flakie glitter polish in a blurple base. I painted four layers to achieve opacity but then decided to add a bit of nail art to make it more interesting. I created stripes and dots with Sinful Colors Into the Blue. I used striping tape for the stripes and a dotting tool for the dots.I think the combination is bold yet subdued because of the likeness in the colors.

Nail Art: Jelly Sandwich

I have finally created my first jelly sandwich!! What is a jelly sandwich? It is a mani using a jelly formula polish which is sheer but build-able and layering glitter in between layers of jelly polish. I used Zoya Frida and Revlon Heavenly for today's look. I first applied three coats of Frida to come close to full opacity, then applied one coat of Revlon Heavenly and one more coat of Frida. I then applied NYC's matte top coat and there you have it!
