Born Pretty Store Review: Nail Stamp Plate QA 90

Press Sample

I have another Born Pretty Store review for you today! The Born Pretty Store has tons of nail stamping plates. One of which I bought myself and shared in my Turquoise Stamping post. I decided to try QA90, which has this interesting spike design along with some other interesting elements. I really liked the look of that spike design, but I ended up using the filigree look for today's mani. I used a base color of Sephora Formula X in Zing and stamped with Sally Hansen White On. In the last photo I used Mentality Pop as a base and Wet 'n' Wild Black Creme for stamping.

So in the last photo, I wanted to show what the spike design looked like. I stamped this over a previous mani and my photos just didn't turn out great. This was the only one that turned out to be presentable. I have to admit, I had a really difficult time stamping with this plate. I tried all sorts of combinations, but the images just weren't picking up really well. I literally sat down three separate times, and several tries each sitting to get this plate to stamp well. It never stamped well, but I managed to get some images off the plates. I had the most difficult time with the filigree images. The one below the spikes, next to my pointer finger in the photo never fully picked up and the image doesn't look centered to me. I found this plate to be frustrating, though I will probably use it again for the spike images. The spikes are really unique and interesting. I have other images of filigrees on other plates which stamp easier. Another thing you should know about the plates is that they do not have a backing. Other Konad plates and MoYou plates all have plastic backings to make it so that the edges aren't as sharp. These edges are really sharp, so you have to be careful not to cut yourself when using them.

Seeing how inexpensive the product is, I can see getting the plate for just a couple of images. Here is the link to stamping plate QA90, but be sure to check out their other plates as well. I have several from the Born pretty store that I really like a lot. If you would like 10% off your order, use the code HANDX31, and as always they offer free shipping. It took about two weeks for my order to reach me, so plan accordingly. I have two more products to review for the Born Pretty Store, and I will have those posts up within the next week, so be on the lookout! I hope you found this post helpful! Thanks for reading!

  1. These patterns look so lovely especially the first one! Such a shame that they weren't picking up well.

  2. Agreed! I was trying really hard. Maybe if I used actual stamping polish it would work better.

  10. You should! I love nail stamping! This may not be the best plate for a beginning stamper, but there are tons of others that are fantastic and easy to use.
