Swatch and Review of Mentality: Pop, Legislate, and Fervor

I have another indie brand to share today! Do you all love indies as much as I do? I feel like I have been promoting indies a lot lately, but that is because I love the idea of supporting a small business. I feel like I can relate more to them. Don't get me wrong, I love my mainstream brands, but indies are pretty amazing too. Today I have Mentality Nail Polish in Pop, Legislate, and Fervor. I had never tried the brand before, but when they recently had an amazing sale, I had to pick up a few.

Up first is Pop. In person, this is more of a blue tone than a grey tone. It looks a little grey to me here. The bottle has a gorgeous blue shimmer that just doesn't translate to the nail. You can kind of see some of that shimmer in the bottle in the photo below. As for the formula, it was pretty thick. It wasn't unmanageable, but much thicker than I like to work with. I might thin it out a bit when I use it again. Other than that, I only needed two coats and it glided on pretty nice.

 Direct sunlight:

I really only bought this one for the name, some of you will know why. Legislate is part of the 420 collection. I assure you, that is not why I bought it, but I ended up really liking the color as well. It is a kind of bronze, caramel, brown with flecks of gold and a hint of green. It is really interesting! It is considered a holo, but I didn't see enough in there to warrant a sunlight shot. This one was a little less thick than Pop, but still on the thicker side. I only used two coats here as well.

Fervor is the one I was most excited about. It is a silver holo with tons of holo glitter! It shifts a little purple and blue in some lights. The formula was much thinner than the other two, which I really liked. I used three coats for full coverage. Fervor kind of reminded me of A England Fonteyn, but I think A England is much richer and has a stronger color shift.

Overall, I like the brand. I thought it was interesting how the different colors had such different formulas. The colors are all really beautiful and really saturated. I am particularly excited about Legislate because it is a color that is very unique. I am sure I have nothing like it in my collection. What do you think of Mentality? Will you be purchasing some in the future? Are you already a fan? Hope you liked this post! Thanks for reading.

  1. I think Fervor is my favorite!

  2. Wow! So gorgeous! I love all my Mentality polishes and might have to throw these into the collection soon!
