Neon Week Nail Art: Neon Galaxy

Today's neon look almost hurts my eyes it is so bright! I think that is a good thing, it being Neon Week and all. If you missed previous Neon Week posts you can find them here: Neon Mist (Day 1), Monochrome Arrows (Day 2), and Neon Rainbow Flowers (Day 3). Today, I have something I don't think I have seen all that often if at all: neon galaxy nails! I have done galaxy nails before, one was quite popular and another for the #hepicksmypolish challenge, but both were more conventional types. I have seen a ton of pastel galaxies which I have been wanting to try, but then I thought, why not make it neon? So this kind of looks like a radioactive galaxy and all I can think about is that song Strange Clouds, but I think it is pretty cool. This was the most difficult to photograph so far. The neon is a little out of control here!

These look like they are almost glowing in the photos, but in real life they look much more detailed. I really like these, I almost don't want to take them off so I can move on to the next design. I started with a base of Color Club Wham! Pow! and sponged on Flamingo and Mrs. Robinson as well as China Glaze Sun Worshiper (perfect name for a galaxy mani!) and painted the stars with Flip Flop Fantasy. I topped it with China Glaze Fairy Dust, for real, I think I am becoming addicted to it. I want to put it on everything! What do you think of neon galaxies? I found that neon galaxies are a little more testy when pairing colors. I think with the darker background, accent colors blend better, but in this case I actually had to regroup after one failed attempt. I actually wanted to participate in Oh Mon Dieu Part Deux, which is a really awesome nail art challenge. I would have liked to participate in more challenge days, but I only just noticed this challenge and it is almost over. Day 17 was galaxy nails, but you can jump in any time. So these are my entry for Day 17! You can see more galaxy nails from the challenge at the end of this post. I loved the end result and I hope you do too! Be sure to come back again tomorrow for another installment in Neon Week. Thanks for reading!
